Welcome to KluckStack
The online home of Ted Kluck's original and vintage columns, along with brand new NFL Draft scouting reports and football analysis, written by Ted and Tristan Kluck.
Hey, welcome to KluckStack…
I’m your host Ted Kluck, joined as always by my good friend, my partner in football, my partner in writing, and also my son, Tristan Kluck1. It’s a privilege - and a kindness of the Lord - that I have an audience at all. If you’ve wandered here from The Happy Rant, The KLUCK Podcast, or The Gut Check Pod, thanks for coming and thank you for listening to me bloviate into my computer all these years. If you’re here because of World Magazine columns, my weird Taylor Swift thing that ran on Yahoo! Finance2 last year, or Jackson Sun columns, thanks for coming. If you’re here because you’ve enjoyed a book or two along the way, thank you for letting my writing be a part of your life.
This will be the online home of original (paid subscription) and vintage (free subscription) columns about sports, faith, popular culture, and life. In addition, I’ll be posting original NFL Draft scouting reports written in conjunction with Tristan. It’s a privilege to have an audience, but it’s fun to introduce you to my son, who’s a smart guy and a blast to work with.
Tristan is a sophomore business economics student at Union University, and (if you’re new here) I’m an award-winning author of 30 books, whose work has appeared in ESPN the Mag, ESPN.com, Yahoo Finance, USA Today, and many other publications. We’ll post at least one (probably more) scouting report per week in the leadup to the NFL Draft, in addition to a column in one of the aforementioned categories all year around.
I’ve played and coached professionally (at the lowest possible levels!) on two continents, and currently work with the long snappers at Lane College (Jackson, TN). Tristan is the only one writing for this site who has scored a touchdown in a football game that both of us have suited up in together. Here’s an excerpt from a forthcoming magazine piece, about my relationship with him:
At 46 years old I was able to suit up in a semipro football game with Tristan this fall. I got to block for him on a play in which he scored a touchdown. When I met him in Ukraine at 18 months old, he would clutch food in his fists, hoarding it because he was unsure of where the next meal would come from. Today we’ll eat lunch together on campus and I’ll be in the weight room as he deadlifts 500 pounds. God has been kind.

It’s crazy to realize that your kid is not only your kid but is objectively good at things. Tris has a keen eye for football and writes about it really well. You’ll enjoy his work!
Never has someone with less financial acumen been published by a finance publication.
